Long weekends are wonderful for obvious reasons. But this long weekend we were constantly on the go. Friday we were to a laser light show at Quassy. Before the show we had hot dogs and cheese burgers there. And the kids went on lots of rides. It was beautiful weather! Victoria went on the new roller coaster, she thought it was awesome. LOL. We didn't get home until almost 11 pm and every one was beat. The boys passed out in the car but luckily were very easy to get upstairs.
Saturday we woke up bright and early and went to Hartford for a Vintage Baseball Game. It was very cool! The kids all had a blast. So did Mike and I, but we decided we need to go once by ourselves so we can actually pay attention. They play baseball how it was played in 1860 and 1880. Old wool uniforms, 1 umpire. Same rules as back in the day, good thing we got a rule book! The Baseball Hall of Fame had Babe Ruth come! He took pictures with the kids, he even had Victoria take his camera and take a picture! He autographed real baseballs for everyone too. We sat right near the Civil War Camp. The boys even played baseball with the re-enactors!
After that we went to the mall. They didn't have many food options at the game and someone was hungry! So we stopped there and let the boys run around in the Play Area. They have so much energy.
Then it was on to home, and my favorite time, NAP TIME!!! Later in the afternoon we absorbed 2 more children. Lexi and Joey. We took all of them to a block party at their school. The 2 Catholic Schools are merging and this was a way for all the kids to get to know each other. They had bouncy houses there that they just keeped going up and down on. Lexi dances to the Dj's music. She's hilarious! Then they waited in line to have balloon animals made! While waiting though, 2 little boys were getting hungry and cranky so they downed some popcorn!!!
After returning the 2 additional kids we acquired (LOL), we took the boys to get some pizza!!!!
Sunday was all about vegging out at home and Monday was gonna be another crazy day. But it decided to pour in the morning. So we didn't go to the parade :( Maybe next year. But then the boys went outside and rode their tricycle and scooter. When they came in we had a snack of brownies...YUMMY! And they made their own pizza's with Grandma Carol. How cool!!!
After dinner it was time to change into Jammies and watch Gnome and Juliet. While eating popcorn of course. The movie was adorable! We will have to buy it. And then we did glow in the dark bracelets and sparklers!!!
Then bed time, because morning comes too fast!!!
