Depressed Much

I believe that at some point in everyones life, they will experience some form of depression. It may not be life changing. It may not require medication or therapy. But, they will experience it. Everyone handles depression differently. Some people just need time to deal with whatever caused or is causing it. This can be a fine line for some. If the feelings aren't getting any better you don't always realize it because you are in a funk. And by then you can become resentful to friends and family who try to point it out and help because you will take it the wrong way. Other people go to therapy. Other people (like me) have always had problems letting people in and that includes professionals. And I definitely don't like talking about my feelings (it makes you look weaker). But i've been in and out of therapy since I was young. And when I was young I didn't open up, but I realized you have to keep going back. What's the answer? Tell them what they want to hear! Not all at once because they will figure it out. Yes, I am aware, this makes Therapy useless. But if I can't open up anyway...ummm hello? Genius! Some peeps need medication. The depression can be caused for so many reasons that I didn't even realized. If there ends up being a combination cause it's a alittle harder to fix. If you have a chemical imbalance or a brain mis-fire, you may need meds forever. It sucks but it's that or getting so low you wish you were dead. See, that's the thing with these meds. You need to listen to the doctor! You can't take yourself off them because YOU think you're doing better and you definitely can't just stop taking them. Sure, at first everything seems fine. You think, "see I'm good". Then 7 days into it you start to become emotionless, you just don't care. Not about anything, you especially. You are just blah. A few days later you start to get morbid thoughts and it's scary. And by the time you realize you have made a mistake it's too late. You need to re-start your meds immediately but get yourself through the next week while they get back into your system. And even though you know this is exactly what is gonna happen, at some point you will attempt to take yourself off your meds again and torture yourself again. If you're depressed, do yourself a favor and look up the symptoms and better yet, the side effects. I didn't realize all the things that are going on because of depression. I'm getting the triple whammy. I'm getting it from the migraines, medication & depression. Just know you aren't alone!

The only day that matters is March 31st...

Opening day baby!!! But until then, if you are a true baseball fan, you are paying attention to the spring training games. You don't take all the wins and losses to heart, but you are definitely making notes. Watching how the daily players are making out. Seeing how they are doing compared to this time last year. In a normal spring training game, if they the core players bat around 2 times that is about right. More than that means they are really looking at something. The teams go really easy on their big starting pitchers. Gotta be careful with those arms until it's D day.

But you still check your phone, when's the game, what's the score. You're making sure your apps are up to date. MLB at bat 2011 baby!!! You are making sure that you are able to have access to all games in case it's a day game and you're going to be at work. If you have MLB at bat you can listen to the game on your phone, better than nothing! If you are in the car, you can listen to it on your phone through the radio! You will not miss a game! If you are somewhere where you can't listen or watch, you can watch the play by plays on your phone so that you can always know what's going on. Everyday you are online looking at the articles. How did this team do, how is this player doing, who's already on the DL, who is going to be off the DL? Who might be in the starting pitching rotation for which team? These are things everyone wants to know and pay attention to.

And during this spring training "season", everyone is watching all teams. You need to know what everyone is doing, what all teams are doing. Who is going to be the biggest threat. What team might trade what player, should your team change up who is playing where. And all of this wondering and sometimes "stress" all leads to excitement and a wonderful baseball season. A season that lasts almost all year. And you love every minute of it. Win or lose! You sit there and watch that game, clapping or screaming. There's always hope. You know what your team is capable of, and you are excited when they do great, or when they do a come from behind win or even more excited, a walk off win (go Yankees!). And you just know when they can't come back but you can still try to wish it out for them.

Catch up on your sleep now. Those late night games when your team plays on the opposit coast can be a bitch. And getting up for work the next day is a little difficult but it has to be done! So here we go, let's get our gear out and rest our voices. Keep the reading going and get ready for some baseball. BATTER UP!

5 seasons; winter, spring, summer, fall & breaking up?

Why does it seem like people break.   up in groups? This couple breaks up and then next thing you know another couple breaks up. It almost starts to seem like a domino effect.  And when it's people close to you, you start to feel helpless.  You want to help and take all their pain away.  But unfortunately that isn't possible.  All you can do is be there for them and listen to them.

Sometimes things work themselves out and other times, our loved ones aren't so lucky.  Some people heal faster than others. People all cope differently but we all need someone to lean on.

No time for Drama!

Why does it seem like everything happens all at once? Like everything falls apart at one time? You start to feel like you are being tested, like you are being pushed to the edge. And sometimes it's a combination. Things start falling apart while you are planning other life changing events. So everything needs your attention all at the same time. You never know where to turn first. You don't know what the right answer is. You don't want to react too quickly but you don't want to wait too long to react. Everyone is trying to be aware of each other's feelings. People are afraid of seeming selfish, even though this might be the time they need to be just that, selfish! It's just not the best timing. But that's not your fault.
Is it really possible to be there for others and also be able to focus on what you need to do for yourself at the same time? I'm sure most of the time it is possible. But sometimes, in order to do that you need to make tough decisions. Let people be mad, or upset at you for your decisions that they don't understand. And when they are over it you can all get back to your other issues and just be there for each other.

Is it okay to put yourself first every now and then? Most of us don't think so. Mothers and wives always, or almost always put others first. It's just a habit. Eventually, you need to start somewhere and just do something for yourself. Unfortunately, the time that you may need to do it, may not be the best time for everyone else, but it may be the best time for YOU!
